We are happy to announce that our WakaWaka Foundation team has been reinforced!
The WakaWaka Foundation team is extended with two new interns. Since the beginning of July Eefje and Lilian are helping on amplifying and implementing the WakaWaka Programs. Eefje is contributing to the Micro-Entrepreneurs and Climate Hero Education Program. The Energy Poverty Aid and Crisis Aid Program are projects that Lilian is assisting on. More news and updates about these programs will follow soon!
Both Lilian and Eefje are very eager to be working at the WakaWaka Foundation!
Eefje studied social science, intercultural communication, and management of cultural diversity. Sustainability, human rights, developmental aid and poverty relief are of great importance to her.
Eefje: “I am very enthusiastic about WakaWaka! These lights will make a big change to the lives and future of many children and their families, who currently do not have access to energy. It is safe, affordable, and gives people plenty of new opportunities. And as an extra merit, it is good for the environment!“
Lilian has just finished her bachelor degree in Cultural Anthropology in Utrecht. Within her studies she has focused on human rights and conflict studies. Her interests in these topics are useful in her contribution to the foundation.
Lilian: “I think that the combination to reduce energy poverty with sustainable and self-sufficient energy is innovating and long lasting. I am happy to be able to be a part of this way of development“.
