Typhoon reconstruction

When a powerful typhoon — Haiyan — ravaged the Philippines in 2013, the International Rescue Committee helped local communities rebuild and prepare for the next disaster. After Typhoon Hagupit struck the islands last fall the emergency preparedness paid off: IRC-supported aid groups were able to provide immediate assistance and save lives. The IRC will ensure that donated WakaWakas get to the survivors who are restarting and rebuilding their lives after the catastrophic destruction wrought by Haiyan and Hagupit.
