WakaWakas are provided to women who have been victims of sexual abuse and have participated in the ASR trauma relief program.
Here a few reactions from the people who received a WakaWaka:
(Woman) “Oh, I can not find the words to tell you how happy I am to have participated in the ASR training at home. Plus, we use the lamps to light (our houses) because we have no electricity . It have been offered 1,000 gourdes to sell mine, but I can not sell it because it is a very expensive souvenir.”
(Woman) “I like the way that the ASR program is done, and the surprises that we receive every time, but I never expected such a great surprise as the solar lamps. They help us a lot especially with babies at home. More economical.”
