The recipients of the WakaWakas are all women in families who suffer from energy poverty. These women are unemployed housewives above 35 years of age with no or minimal educational training. Not only do the womens families suffer from energy poverty, the family sources of income are also meager. The access to solar light improves the family income, health and education.

Everyone deserves access to energy
At WakaWaka, we believe sustainable energy is a basic human right — not a luxury. By harnessing the power of the sun, we provide reliable light and power to anyone, anywhere — from adventurers off the grid to communities without electricity.
