Solar lights for Internally Displaced People (IDP) in Mosul

The humanitarian crisis in Iraq is one of the largest and most complex in the world. Estimates show that more than 12 million people in the conflict region require some form of humanitarian assistance. Cordaid and their local partner work in the Mosul crisis towards an integrated strategy for emergency aid. Primarily this is done in the area south of Mosul, in villages that have been liberated recently and where inhabitants have returned to and try to set up their lives again. Cordaid supports internally displaced people in Mosul with basic needs, such as food, shelter and health care, for winter survival. WakaWakas will be distributed to the most vulnerable households in order to ensure their safety at night and to bring a little light to the darkness. As there is no regular power available, the population can benefit greatly from receiving solar lights.
