WakaWaka goes public!
Shareholder in the Sun
The first European B Corp social enterprise to go public.
WakaWaka is growing
WakaWaka is growing and therefore continues to supply people with light in areas without reliable electricity and power resources. Today, we reach more than 1.3 million people in these off-grid areas. In order to make even more impact in the world, it is necessary to continue our growth. That is why WakaWaka is going to the stock market. It is now possible to invest in shares via NPEX, the Dutch trade platform for SMEs. We want to raise 2.5 million euros in this financing round. Do you also want to participate? And you don't live in the Netherlands? then please mail firstname.lastname@example.org with cc to email@example.com. Please note that all documentation regarding this public offering is in Dutch. NPEX will personally help you in the process. More info (in Dutch) via www.npex.nl/wakawaka

The role of NPEX for WakaWaka
WakaWaka was founded in 2012 with a mission to provide light & power to the 1.2 billion people worldwide who are not connected to the electricity grid. By selling its products to outdoor adventurers and corporations, WakaWaka helps families in developing countries, refugees and victims of natural disasters gain access to light and power. Following ten successful crowdfunding campaigns, WakaWaka is the first European B Corporation to go public and offers its shares via NPEX, the finance platform for SMEs.
Through NPEX investors can invest in bonds or (certificates of) shares of companies (also called depository notes). NPEX is the first funding platform in the Netherlands to receive an MTF license on the basis of MiFID II. Sounds technical, but it means that the platform now meets the strictest European requirements and that both investors and entrepreneurs are better protected and secured. You can read more about this on the homepage of www.npex.nl (in Dutch).
WakaWaka is a certified B Corp. This stands for "Benefit Corporation" a quality label for social enterprises that is tested against strict demands concerning social impact, environment, accountability and transparency. More than 2,000 social enterprises from more than 50 countries have now been certified. WakaWaka has one of the highest "B Corp scores" in the world and has been in the list of 'Best for the World' B Corps since 2016.
